MANILA (2nd Update 5:00 p.m.) -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo imposed a news blackout Saturday on the case of Filipino accountant Robert Theodore Tarongoy despite the extension of the deadline imposed by his Iraqi captors on the Philippine Government to comply with their demands in exchange for his release.

"The less we talk and write about it, the better for him (Tarongoy)," Arroyo said in a press conference in Baguio City.
