Dagupan eyes 4-day workweek plan (9:15 p.m.)

DAGUPAN City Mayor Benjamin S. Lim said they would study the implementation of a four-day-workweek in some offices of the City Government.

He revealed this Monday prior to his departure for an official business trip with some department heads of the City Government and school administrators to China.

Under the plan, working days will be from Monday to Thursday only.

"The City will save on electricity and gasoline," he said.

The mayor said the workweek scheme might be applied in offices at the City Government like the city population commission, nutrition and social welfare.

"For the next two months, the price of gasoline will still rise. If this happens, we will try to implement it so that the City and the employees could save," he said. (Sun.Star Pangasinan/Fred P. Macaraeg)
