DAVAO CITY -- A former informant of the defunct Narcotics Command (Narcom) was gunned down by suspected vigilantes inside a beauty parlor at the Agdao public market in Davao City on Easter Sunday.

He was the 65th victim in the series of killings in the city for this year alone.

Killed was Ben Olivar Quiamco, 24, jeepney driver, of R. Castillo Street in Agdao.

Santa Ana police investigator Jeffrey Grant Bangcas said Quiamco was with his girlfriend inside the Wellyn Beauty Saloon at around 10:15 a.m. when one of the gunmen barged in and shot him once.

Quiamco managed to run, but was later cornered by the gunmen along Soliman St. and repeatedly shot him in different parts of his body.

Quiamco succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds in his legs, back part of his body and head.

Scene of the Crime Operations (Soco) operatives led by Chief Inspector Tomas Dimaandal said Quiamco died instantly.

Soco operatives found three empty shells of caliber .45 pistol at the scene of the crime.

Quiamco's father told police investigators his son was a former asset of Narcom. He denied that his son was involved in illegal drugs.

In the afternoon of Sunday, a laborer, who was a known gang member in their place, was gunned down at the Panacan public market.

The victim was identified as Tereso Durias, 18.

Initial investigation conducted by Sasa police investigator Isidro Templa said the victim was standing near the Talino fruit stand inside the market when shot by the still unknown assailant at around 4:30 p.m.

The gunman was reportedly onboard a Honda motorcycle.

Tereso succumbed to three gunshot wounds in the head.

Three empty shells of a caliber .45 pistol were also found at the scene of the crime.
