Taxi fleet owner robbed, abducted
By Joy G. Romares

DAVAO CITY -- Four unidentified men robbed Wednesday night a Chinese businesswoman inside her home in Delta Homes, Matina and brought her with them when they left.

Maricris Te, 32, of Emerald Street, owns and operates a 16-unit fleet of taxis. Her abductors have not yet contacted her family to make known their demands.

Te's housemaid Analisa Metoda told police her employer was at home resting at 10:40 p.m., a few hours after the last taxi driver arrived to remit his day's rental, when four armed men barged in and demanded valuables.

Metoda said taxi drivers usually remit rental at around 8:30 p.m. every night.

She added that Te, in fear, gave the armed men money and her jewelry. The men, according to Metoda, were wearing black jackets and ski masks.

Another of Te's helpers, Maricris Menrico, was locked inside her bedroom by the armed men. Metoda said they held her and Te at gunpoint.

Just before leaving, the robbers let go of Metoda and forced Te into a vehicle.

Police learned that Te lives with a friend, a Japanese named Akira Aquino who left for Japan Wednesday afternoon.
