MANILA – The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will arrest former National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) deputy head Samuel Ong after a warrant has been issued for charges of inciting to sedition and violation of the Anti-Wiretapping Act.

NCRPO head Vidal Querol said they are waiting for the cases to be filed against Ong.

"If it (the arrest warrat) is given to us, it would be easy. It's no big thing. We will just serve the warrant and arrest Ong," said Querol in a radio station dzMM interview.

Ong earlier came out to say that he has in his possession master tapes of a supposed telephone conversation between President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Election Commissioner Virgilio Garcillano. According to Ong, the tapes link the President to electoral fraud as he called for Arroyo to resign.

Ong, who sought refuge in the San Carlos Seminary since Friday after he made the revelation, has left the formation house late Monday night for an undisclosed destination south of Manila. (Sunnex Luzon)
