Roces urged Pinoys to unite in protest (7: 25 p.m.)

MANILA -- Movie actress and prominent opposition figure Susan Roces encouraged people to unite and join their voices in protest, saying these will become louder in time and will be heard.

Roces, widow of the late presidential candidate Fernando Poe Jr., said in her speech before a crowd of thousands attending an anti-Arroyo rally in Makati City Wednesday night that she is one with the Filipinos in their suffering, patience, and prayers.

She added that with God's help, the current political crisis can be solved through peaceful means.

Roces thanked the youth who attended the rally and said she was proud of them. She emphasized that cheating is wrong and should not be emulated and that her protest against the administration is for them.

She also said the administration is currently confusing the people with different tactics, like the Charter Change, and warned people to be cautious.

"Let's not be quick to trust and believe these things. We need to scrutinize these changes to see if it will be good for us, if it will be beneficial to the majority. Your future is of great concern to me," Roces said. (Sunnex)
