Security adviser is still under Senate's custody: Drilon (10:50 a.m.)
MANILA -- Senate President Franklin Drilon said Tuesday thatthe Senate will ask its physician to look into the condition of National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales to determine if there is a need for him to undergo a heart operation abroad as advised by his attending doctor.
This, as Drilon and Senator Joker Arroyo, chairman of the Senate Blue Ribbon committee, said Gonzales remains under the Upper House's custody and that there is no truth to reports that he has been released.
Drilon said in a radio station dzMM interview that what they in the Senate talked about Monday night "is that we would send a doctor to check on Gonzales’ condition because of his manifestation before the Supreme Court for emergency surgery after a hospital in Sweden checked his medical records."
Gonzales's doctors said the security adviser's heart artery is blocked and needs to be unclogged. (Sunnex)
