ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Communist insurgents killed two soldiers and wounded four others in an ambush Sunday in Bislig town, Surigao del Sur province, in the southern Philippines, officials said.

Officials said New People's Army (NPA) rebels have detonated a landmine, killing the soldiers. Four others were injured in the attack, they said.
