KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia -- Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo wants to expand a Southeast Asian anti-terrorism coalition to include China, Russia and four other central Asian nations, citing a growing threat from militants in those regions.
Arroyo told reporters that Russian Vladimir Putin and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao separately welcomed her proposal when she met them in Kuala Lumpur on the sidelines of regional summit meetings.
