Don't make us a scapegoat: media group to Palace anti-corruption adviser (10:58 a.m.)

MANILA -- A group of journalists took exception Wednesday to criticism made by presidential anti-corruption czar Tony Kwok that the media is to blame for the bad perception of the Philippines in the international community.

National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP) president Inday Varona said in a radio station dzMM interview that the media is just doing its job of exposing graft and corruption in government and not gloss over it.

Varona also said the media had recognized the government's anti-corruption efforts in the past and up to now through various articles. (Sunnex)
