State of emergency eyed by Palace (9:13 a.m.)

MANILA -- Palace officials are discussing Friday a move to declare a state of emergency nationwide.

The issue is being considered by Malacaņang following reports of an imminent coup against President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
