MANILA -- Police filed on Monday rebellion charges against former senator Gregorio Honasan, and 15 other personalities including members of Congress and some Oakwood mutineers.

Named in the complaint sheet were self-exiled National Democratic Front (NDF) Jose Maria Sison, partylist Reps. Crispin Beltran, Satur Ocampo, Rafael Mariano, Teodoro Casino and Liza Maza and militant labor leader Joel Virador.

Arrested Oakwood mutineer 1Lt. Lawrence San Juan, escapee 1Lt. Patricio Bumidang Jr, and two other missing junior officers: 2Lts. Aldrin Baldonado and Angelbert Gay were also impleaded in the complaint.

Charges were also filed against San Juan's lawyer who was arrested with him, Christopher Belmonte, and former rebel leaders Jake Malajacan and Felix Turingan.

Senior State Prosecutor Emmanuel Velasco conducted the inquest proceedings on Beltran and San Juan at Camp Crame.

Honasan and Turingan have been separately charged with coup d' etat in connection with the failed July 2003 mutiny. (Sunnex)
