Man in P2 million heist arrested in motel
DAVAO CITY -- Police nabbed a man hunted for allegedly stealing P2 million from his Indian employer based in Cotabato City, at a local motel in Davao City.
A team of police seized a total of P357,400 in cash from Christopher Liprozo, who allegedly hid the money in his clothing. He was arrested inside Prince Court along J.P. Cabaguio Avenue.
Liprozo, a resident of Barangay Pangyan in Glan, Sarangani Province, was presented to the media in General Santos City by Police Chief Danilo Mangila, who heads the police in Soccsksargen and Regional Intelligence and Investigation Division Chief Willie M. Dangane on Monday morning.
Liprozo was reportedly employed as warehouseman of Sugni Superstore, owned by Shinker Khemani of Cotabato City, for the past three years.
It was not clear how Liprozo spirited away the P2 million.
Dangane said the suspect had already spent some of the money, having bought a motorcycle and some land.
The police have almost completed its investigation and would be turning over Liprozo to the Cotabato police where he would face charges. (AZ of Sun.Star SuperBalita/Sunnex)
