3rd Pinoy reaches Mt. Everest's summit (3:25 p.m.)

MANILA -- Filipino mountaineer Romy Garduce, has scaled Mt. Everest and stepped on the peak of the world's highest mountain at 1 p.m. Friday.

Garduce becomes the third Filipino in a row to have reached the summit of Mt. Everest.

Earlier, Leo Oracion and Erwin Emata have conquered Mt. Everest last Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. Oracion and Emata were expected to be at the Mt. Everest base camp, where the first Philippine Mt. Everest Expedition is staying.

Garduce is not a member of the expedition though. (Sunnex)
