2 minors rape teenager, kill brother

SAN CARLOS CITY -- A 14-year-old was raped by her cousin and a fellow teenager after her brother was stabbed to death by the two who later ransacked their house.
Jerome, 17 and Marco, 16 (not their real names) both of Barangay Caingal were charged with rape, frustrated homicide, homicide and robbery.
The 14-year-old victim, Anabel (not her real name) and her brother Richie, who was stabbed to death by the suspects, 16 are first cousins and neighbors of Jerome.
San Carlos City Police Chief Johnny Bacbac said they could not submit the two suspects to a drug test without the consent of their parents to find out if the two were on drugs when the crime was committed.
The two suspects were arrested in the neighboring barangay of Paitan after a manhunt operation.
Investigation showed that the Anabel and Richie were the only ones left in the house since their mother left for Manila to sell her bamboo crafts.
The suspects were watching television at the house of the victims when the crime was committed. The two followed Richie in his room, who was preparing to go to sleep, and stabbed him on the chest and forehead.
They later entered the room of Anabel, roused her from sleep and took turns in raping her at knifepoint.
Jerome when interviewed by reporters said he raped Anabel twice and was followed by Marco. The two stabbed Anabel after raping her and took some valuables from the victims' house.
Anabel pretended to be dead and later sought the help of relatives living nearby after she was sure the two already left their house.
She was rushed to the Virgen Milagrosa Medical Center, where was treated and examined.
Police on the other hand, recovered from the suspects a personal check in the amount of P1,735, a bank passbook and other pertinent documents, two Nokia 3315 cell phones, a pair of earrings, two lady's rings and two knives.
The two are now detained at the San Carlos City Police Station detention cell. (Sunnex)
