Ex-VP lodges 2nd impeach case v. Arroyo (10:40 a.m.)
MANILA -- A second impeachment complaint was filed against President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo Tuesday morning by former Vice President Teofisto Guingona in a move meant to make sure that there won't be any technicality issues anymore raised against the move.
Guingona, who represented the Citizens Congress for Truth and Accountability (CCTA), said the new complaint is similar to the case filed by civil society and militant groups Monday.
House secretary-general Roberto Nazareno received Guingona's complaint at 9:05 a.m. and it was endorsed by Guingona's son, Bukidnon Representative Teofisto Guingona III.
The former Vice President said the opposition wanted to make sure that they were able to file the complaint after the one-year prohibition against the filing of successive impeachment cases against the President had lapsed. (Sunnex)
