Police file murder raps vs 'triggerman' of ex-guv (3:20 p.m.)
CEBU CITY -- Homicide investigators filed murder charges Thursday against the alleged triggerman of former Biliran governor Danilo Parilla before the Cebu City Prosecutors Office.
Eugenio Corpin was charged with murder for allegedly killing Parilla inside a vessel from Naval, Biliran Thursday morning.
Parilla's widow, Susan, was among the witnesses who accused Corpin of killing the former governor.
Corpin when interviewed denied the allegations insisting that he is in Cebu to claim a pawned jewelry.
Corpin, who was badly bruised and one eye was bloodshot, is asking police authorities for a medical check up. He said he will file counter charges against the policemen who allegedly beat him black and blue when he was arrested.
Meanwhile, Parilla's remains will be brought back to Naval on Saturday and interment is scheduled on September 16. (Sunnex) |
