By Ben O. Tesiorna

DAVAO CITY -- Self-styled counter-terrorist expert, Samson Macariola, asked forgiveness from Mayor Rodrigo Duterte for the problem he has caused.

Macariola texted the mayor through his aide, Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go, saying sorry for all the trouble he caused.

"I understand the stand of Mayor Duterte. I apologize and have same high respect for him. Thank you very much for all the good things you have helped. Please tell the mayor, my integrity is intact and would be always for good. Again my apologies," Macariola said in the text message.

Macariola has found himself in the middle of an outrage from various government officials after he was headlined to have sneaked in the makings of a bomb inside a commercial plane to and from Davao City. (Sun.Star Davao)
