Senator slams Palace over disposal of Boracay private lots (5:37 p.m.)

THE issuance by Malacañang of a proclamation that enables the government, through the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), to dispose of and alienate land in Boracay classified as agriculture “is prejudicial to Boracay land owners.”

Senator Franklin Drilon condemned any preemptive move by the government even before the Supreme Court (SC) could decide on the case.

Drilon, during a hearing on the DENR budget for next year, asked Environment Secretary Angelo Reyes to stop the public bidding of Boracay lands pending the high court’s decision. (CPB/Sunnex)
