2 wounded in Tacurong market blast (3:10 p.m.)

DAVAO CITY -- Two were confirmed wounded in an explosion inside the Tacurong Public Market Tuesday afternoon.

Major Gen. Rodolfo Obaniana, Eastern Mindanao Command chief, said the grenade explosion happened shortly past noon.

Initial reports revealed that 1 was killed while three others were wounded in the blast.

The confirmed wounded were identified as Isabel Mariano and Sita Magon, both vendors at the market.

As of press time, it was not clear how the explosion happened or who were behind it.

Authorities have also not ruled out the possibility that the incident was terrorist-related. (With Peng Aliņo)
