Catholic Church opposes nursing exams retake (5:54 p.m.)

THE Catholic bishop's group on Tuesday echoed the objections of nursing test examinees to a retake of the leakage-marred licensure test last June.

Monsignor Pedro Quitorio, spokesman for the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), said a retake "would not be a wise decision especially if the reason of the government centers on the international community's outlook on the credibility of Filipino nurses."

While it is likely that the international community might have misgivings on the controversial June 2006 nursing board exams, Quitorio said the doubt on their minds does not include that of the credibility and capability of the nurses. (MSN/CPB/Sunnex)
