By Dante M. Fabian

CLARK ECOZONE -- The management of the Mimosa Golf and Country Club has ordered an investigation into the alleged loss of a half million pesos worth of valuables of a South Korean national while she was playing golf at the fairways here.

Special Project for Resort Operations (SPRO) general manager Noli Reyes said SPRO is finalizing the conduct of investigation on the alleged loss of personal property of a certain Im Kyung Jo.

The investigation -- launched upon the order of CDC president Levy P. Laus -- was conducted by SPRO in coordination with the CDC Public Safety Department (PSD).

Im was reported to have lost an Omega wristwatch worth $3,000, P10,000 cash and undetermined amount of Thai currency.

Reyes said the investigation would warrant thorough questioning of all caddies and other golf course personnel who were present when the loss purportedly took place.

He is also looking into the possibility that the pink pouch of Im where the valuables were placed was only misplaced.

"We will leave no stones unturned until we find out what really transpired in this reported loss. Security personnel have been told to be watchful and at the same time protect the belongings of our guests and players," Reyes said.

The PSD said it would help beef up security at Mimosa.

Senior Superintendent Nicanor Targa, PSD manager, said he would assist the SPRO in the conduct of the investigation, while at the same time maintain high security inside the premises of Mimosa Leisure Estate.

Caddies and Mimosa personnel under investigation by CDC security authorities said all of them are willing to be subjected to lie detector tests and appealed to be considered innocent and be allowed to work while the inquiry was ongoing.

A spokesperson of the group who requested anonymity pending outcome of investigation said their families will suffer because caddying is their biggest source of income.

Earlier, the Korean national, said to be residing temporarily at Villa Teresa Subdivision in Angeles City, claimed she lost cash and valuables amounting to P500,000 while playing golf Friday afternoon. (Sun.Star Pampanga/Sunnex)
