CEBU CITY -- Cebuanos abroad need not miss their favorite Cebu newspaper.

Sun.Star Network Online's 12th Asean Summit Watch
Nini Cabaero, head of the Sun.Star Network Online (Sunnex) that runs the website, said the e-paper's target market are the people outside of Cebu. The e-paper allows them to remain informed of happenings in the community of their birth. She said the launch of the e-paper today is timely with Cebu's playing host to the 12th Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit next week.
As a digital replica of the newspaper, what a reader sees on the e-paper is exactly as it appears in print. Everything on the newspaper -- from the headline to the classified ads -- can be found on the e-paper.
Viewing of the Sun.Star Cebu e-paper is free until December 15, 2006. Visitors need only to register with their credit card details.
Starting December 16, 2006, the subscription rates would apply. Subscription rates are: One-day access, US$1; one month, US$3.90; six months, US$19.90; and one year, US$29.90.
The e-paper is a project of the Sunnex in Cebu and PressMart Media Ltd. headquartered in Hyderabad, India. The Sun.Star Cebu e-paper launch is made through announcements in Sun.Star and PressMart publications.
Cabaero said, on the Sun.Star website, only the e-paper will be a paid service. The website will continue to offer free content from areas where Sun.Star community newspapers are located. Aside from Cebu, the communities covered by the website are Baguio, Pampanga, and Pangasinan in Luzon; Bacolod, Dumaguete and Iloilo in the Visayas; and Davao, General Santos, Cagayan de Oro and Zamboanga in Mindanao.
The Sun.Star website is the Internet home of the only network of community newspapers in the Philippines. As of its October 2006 demographics, the website enjoys 43.6 million hits, 14.7 million page views and 1.6 million unique visits a month. (Sunnex)
