Mudslide fatality toll continues to rise (10:21 a.m.)

MANILA -- The National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) has counted as on Wednesday morning 543 people killed in the aftermath of super typhoon Reming and the ensuing mudslide in Albay last week.

The NDCC said 740 people are unaccounted for and 1,861 were injured in Bicol region alone.

Damage to property has been placed at P608 million so far with destruction to infrastructure at P357 million. The agriculture sector has incurred P251 million in damages. (Sunnex)
