Aeta, 2 other teeners shot by security guard By Dante M. Fabian
CLARK ECOZONE -- Three teeners, including a member of the Aeta tribe in the outskirts of the Clark Freeport Zone, suffered serious injuries after being shot by a security guard at the Expo Pilipino here on Tuesday.
Superintendent Nicanor Targa, Clark Development Corporation (CDC) Public Safety Department manager, identified the Aeta youth who sustained metal shotgun pellets on his back as Jericho G. Cosme, 17, of Marcos Village, Mabalacat town.

Also wounded with shotgun bullets -- some of which were removed by doctor Reynaldo Dizon at the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Hospital (formerly Ospital Ning Angeles) -- were Jason Samson and Ronnel M. Torres, both aged 17 and residents of Macapagal Village, Mabalacat.
Cosme and his friends were tending a flock of goats at the area when the incident transpired, Targa said.
He added that the three youths were hit by a hail of bullets from the shotgun of security guard Davidson D. Javines, 31, employed by the Royal Security Agency and on duty then at the Expo Pilipino.
Fulgencio Belnas, CDC police investigator, reported that at about 2 p.m., he proceeded to the scene in response to the request of Mario Pegarrido, RSA Expo swing shift supervisor.
Pegarrido stated that at about 1:30 p.m., Javines chased the three teeners he suspected of stealing manhole grills.
According to Javines, he chanced upon a group of individuals carrying steel grills while doing the rounds of his area and he immediately chased them.
Javines, according to the CDC investigators, managed to climb over the Expo Pilipino perimeter fence toward the grassy area, but his grip slipped and he fell down the fence and this reportedly caused his shotgun to fire accidentally.
Belnas reported that in a search operation, they recovered 15 pieces of steel grills belonging to Expo Pilipino from the victims.
Targa said at about 3 p.m., his office received information that three gunshot victims were admitted to the Philippine Air Force (PAF) 600th AB Wing Dispensary for shot wounds.
The PAF dispensary staff later transported the victims to the Ospital Ning Angeles aboard an ambulance for further medical treatment.
Targa said Javines voluntarily surrendered to the CDC police and turned in his service firearm issued by the Royal Security Agency.
Contrary to claims by the victims that they heard three shots, Targa said investigators found only one empty shell at the scene.
The CDC has also filed charges of theft against the three minors.
Cosme denied accusations that he and his friends were stealing steel grills from inside the Expo Pilipino Compound. Samson said he was not involved in lootings in the Clark ecozone.
He said they were at the scene only to help Torres, who was sent by an uncle to get their goats and bring them to their house. He said the goats are left free everyday to wander and graze around the Expo Pilipino.
Chief Superintendent Jimmy F. Restua told Sun.Star Pampanga that based on police records, Javines was not in the list of registered security guards.
Restua added that Javines may be held liable for criminal charges for multiple frustrated homicide in relation to Republic Act (RA) 7610.
He said that Javines, who is at large, should be turned over to the Angeles Ctiy Police Office Station 4 for detention and proper disposition of the case. (Sun.Star Pampanga/Sunnex)
