Genuine Opposition agrees not to replace Kiko in the slate (1:40 p.m.)

MANILA – The Liberal Party and the coalition of the Genuine Opposition (GO) have agreed not to replace Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan in the 12-man senatorial slate even if the opposition has already dropped him from the list.

“We have an agreement with GO that the GO senatorial slate should only be 11 and Kiko should not be replaced because the LP want to campaign for a 12-man senatorial slate. If they replace Kiko that will be 13 for the LP and we will have to drop one,” Senator Franklin Drilon, LP chairman said.

LP said they are also the dominant minority and they will fight before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to have a copy of the election return which is also crucial for the Genuine Opposition in order to monitor their votes.

LP will also be working double time to ensure the victory of Pangilinan. The LP is confident that Pangilinan will be a sure winner considering the party’s network and machinery.
