Senate bet Cayetano visits namesake's ma By Carlo P. Mallo
DAVAO CITY -- Genuine Opposition senatorial candidate Allan Peter Cayetano visited the residence of his namesake in Sasa, Davao City on Friday morning.
He was warmly received by the people there, including the mother of Joselito Pepito Cayetano, who is running as senatorial candidate of the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan and put "Peter" as his nickname in his certificate of candidacy.

The residents in the area even joked with the Taguig congressman, referring to him as "the real" Cayetano.
"I have always considered him (Allan Peter Cayetano) as a relative, and I will not turn my back on him come election time," the mother of Jojo Cayetano told reporters in the vernacular.
She admitted she was caught off-guard when her son told her that he was seeking a seat in the Senate. She told reporters she thought her son went to Manila to look for a job.
With two Peter Cayetanos seeking office, Allan Peter is now campaigning as "Allan" Cayetano, whence before as an opposition congressman he was more often referred to as Peter Cayetano.
Allan Peter is still seeking the disqualification of the other Cayetano, claiming among others that Joselito Pepito lied in his certificate of candidacy since he was known as Jojo and not Peter among his family, friends, and neighbors.
Earlier, during the opposition's campaign rally at the Rizal Park Thursday night, outgoing campaign manager JV Ejercito said the filing of candidacy by Joselito, political unknown until he filed his candidacy for the senatorial race and staked a claim on the name "Peter" Cayetano to the chagrin of opposition candidate Allan Peter, is a trick by an administration congressman.
"Wala pang eleksyon, subalit ang dayaan nagsimula na (The elections haven't started but the cheating has)," Ejercito said during the rally at Rizal Park last Thursday.
"Isang congressman raw ang nasa likod ng pagtakbo ni Allan 'Jojo' Cayetano na galing pa naman dito sa Davao (A congressman is alleged to be behind the candidacy of an Allan 'Jojo' Cayetano who hails from Davao)," Ejercito told a crowd of around 4,000.
While referring to the unknown Joselito Pepito Cayetano, Ejercito made a slip and called him "Allan" instead.
The chair of the Commission on Elections, Benjamen Abalos, opted not to comment on the possible outcome of the disqualification case filed by Taguig representative and GO candidate Allan Peter Cayetano against KBL-nominated Joselito Pepito "Peter" Cayetano.
"They will be given their day in court, whether to discredit the other or to prove that they are capable of running for senator," Abalos said.
