Foreigner, Filipino wife killed in Bohol robbery
MANILA -- A German national and his Filipino wife were stabbed to death by two suspected robbers who broke into their residence in Baclayon town in Bohol province Friday dawn, reports reaching the PNP national headquarters said.

Police identified the fatalities as German Helmut Malinka and his wife, who was identified only as a certain Tequia. The two sustained multiple stab wounds.
Initial investigation disclosed that the two robbers entered the residence of the victims in Barangay Laya at around 2 a.m. Police investigators said they were armed with a revolver and a hunting knife.
Police rushed to the scene after the incident was reported to them.
Teams from the PNP Scene of the Crime Operation, Bohol provincial police office, and PNP Crime Laboratory later joined the investigation.
The couple's helper, Virginia Saluza, a resident of Dimiao town, also in Bohol, was spared but was hogtied by the robbers. It was Saluza who reported the incident to the police after he untied herself when the robbers left.
Investigators have yet to determine the items and valuables taken by the robbers. They are continuing with the investigation to determine the identities of the attackers.
