Kris Aquino gives birth (7:40 p.m.)
MANILA –- Movie actress and popular television host Kris Aquino, daughter of former President Corazon Aquino, prematurely gave birth via caesarian section on Thursday afternoon to a baby boy at the Makati Medical Center, her first with husband, basketball player James Yap.
In an interview over radio station dzBB, Yap happily announced that his wife has already given birth.
Yap, star player of Purefoods TJ hotdogs team in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), said his son will be named James Yap Jr.
“I was in the delivery room when Kris gave birth. I was nervous. But I’m happy she safely gave birth to our son. I will name him James Yap Jr.” Yap said.
Kris gave birth three weeks in advance. Her due date was supposedly on May 6 yet.
Kris already has a son, Joshua, with actor Philip Salvador.
Yap said he will not be playing with their opponent, the Air 21 basketball team which was scheduled at 7 p.m., to attend to Kris and to his newborn son. (Sunnex)
