12 ballot boxes snatched, found in river By Marna H. Dagumboy
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Pampanga Provincial Police Director Keith Ernald Singian ordered Wednesday the speedy resolution of reports of ballot snatching and robbery in band in Barangay Batasan, Arayat.
The lost 12 ballot boxes were reportedly found later along the shore of the Arayat River.

Singian directed Arayat Police Chief Bruno Viola Jr. to conduct an investigation, identify the perpetrators, and file appropriate charges against them.
According to Municipal Election Officer Chona Sangcal, the police turned over to her the ballot boxes. She also said that when they checked, the ballot boxes remained intact.
Singian said the ballot snatching in Arayat is just a minor election-related violent incident, adding that the May mid-term elections were relatively peaceful.
He said that except for the ballot snatching, there was no other violent incident in the province since the start of the election period.
"This is just an isolated case," Singian said.
He also said that the Pampanga police are on full alert until the canvassing of votes is done. He added that field commanders are still on the lookout for flashpoints and situations that can lead to possible outbreak of violence. (Sun.Star Pampanga/Sunnex)
