‘I am prepared for everything’: Fr. Ed By Raymond C. Garcia
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Newly-proclaimed Governor Fr. Eddie “Among Ed” Panlilio said he had prepared himself for everything that could happen in leading his crusade for good governance.
Among the things he is prepared for is the plan of gubernatorial candidate Lilia Pineda to file an election protest against alleged irregularities in the canvassing of votes in the town of Mabalacat.

Panlilio’s volunteer lawyers likewise are already preparing for any planned protest.
Panlilio, in a press conference, said he will open his heart and reach out to other winning candidates to establish a good working relationship for the common good of the Kapampangans.
When asked what he will do on his first day in office, Panlilio said he will be creating an internal team who will act as a catalyst and model of good governance.
“Good governance for me is listening to the people and knowing their needs and their differences. It is also designing guidelines for their common good and for their benefit,” said Panlilio.
Like his “battle cries” during the campaign period, Panlilio promised transparency in his administration, saying every centavo that comes in and out of the Provincial Government will be accounted for.
Before his proclamation on Friday night, Panlilio said he was called up by the Archbishop to extend his congratulations to him.
“The Archbishop said he will continue to pray for me and that he is confident that I will be a good leader,” said Panlilio.
Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) president and Jaro Archbishop Angel Lagdameo also congratulated Panlilio Sunday for his victory despite the Vatican’s prohibition.
Panlilio returned to his parish in Guagua town’s Betis area on Sunday to attend mass.
In the end, Panlilio thanked and lauded media practitioners, both local and national, since they were the ones who introduced his campaign and candidacy to the people.
“Kayo po ay naging malaking tulong sa ating crusada para ipakilala ito sa mga tao (You are of great help to this crusade in informing the public about this), considering the fact that we came out late during the campaign period,” he said. (Sun.Star Pampanga)
