4 admin bets enter Magic 12 in Comelec count (10:26 a.m.)
MANILA -- Team Unity (TU) now has four senatorial candidates in the Magic 12 based on the latest partial and official results of the canvassing by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Monday as of 1:05 a.m.
Genuine Opposition (GO) candidate Loren Legarda maintained her lead with 6,326,613 votes followed closely by party mate Francis Escudero who had with 6,219,579 votes. GO's Manuel Villar was third with 5,222,448 votes and in fourth place was Panfilo Lacson with 5,194,541 votes.
The fifth to eighth placers are Francis Pangilinan (independent) with 5,091,273 votes; Benigno Aquino III (GO) with 4,872,526 votes; Edgardo Angara (TU) with 4,382,474 votes and Joker Arroyo (TU) with 4,236,685 votes.
Independent candidate Gregorio Honasan and GO's Alan Peter Cayetano, who were ousted from the top 12 of the last tally, were at ninth and 10th places, respectively. Honasan has 3,891,344 votes and Cayetano has 3,886,939 votes.
TU's Juan Miguel Zubiri was at 11th place with 3,765,461votes while party mate Ralph Recto was in 12th with 3,760,720 votes.
At the Namfrel tally as of 11:29 p.m. on Sunday, Legarda was also in the lead.
Legarda had 5,819,588 votes followed by Escudero with 5,713,892 votes and Lacson with 5,047,379 votes.
Others in the Namfrel tally's top 12 are Villar with 4,762,173 votes; Pangilinan with 4,642,353 votes; Aquino (GO) with 4,577,372 votes; Angara (TU) with 4,116,443 votes; Honasan with 3,798,589 votes; Arroyo with 3,797,095; Cayetano with 3,669,134 votes; Antonio Trillanes IV with 3,581,703 votes and Aquilino Pimentel III with 3,499,919 votes.
