MILF ready to hunt wanted terrorist

DAVAO CITY -- The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) is ready to help in the hunt for one of the most wanted terrorists in the United States believed to be hiding in the vast Liguasan Marsh.
In a telephone interview, MILF spokesman Eid Kabalu said the Ad-Hoc Joint Action Group composed of MILF and government representatives was specifically created to address this kind of situation.

Kabalu said he would however first check if there was already an agreement between the government and the MILF to cooperate in the hunt against Benhir Abdul Maruwan, alias Kumander Maruwan.
Maruwan is said to be hiding in Liguasan Marsh, which straddles North Cotabato and Maguindanao.
The military said Maruwan is protected by armed members of a breakaway faction of the MILF.
Maruwan reportedly maintains direct communication with Kumander Basit Usman and Indonesian terrorists Omar Patek and Dulmatin, reported to be behind the bombing of Bali, Indonesia on 2002.
Maruwan is also believed to be behind the bombing of Tacurong and Cotabato cities that caused the deaths of several people. (Sun.Star Davao/Sunnex)
