Foul play seen in Coast Guard trainee's death (8:45 p.m.)
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY –- Cagayan de Oro native Kenneth Zaragosa dreamed of a life in the Coast Guard.
But that dream became a nightmare when he died under suspicious circumstances just six days on training at the Coast Guard's facility in Taguig, Manila Wednesday.
Greeting in anguish and tears for his lifeless body at the Cagayan de Oro Lumbia Airport Friday, his family demanded justice, suggesting foul play in Kenneth's death.
The 27-year-old Kenneth, a resident of Barangay Puntod, had started training last May 31 after he passed the Coast Guard examinations in Cagayan de Oro, said Romeo Zaragosa, the victim's father.
Last Wednesday, Kenneth's father said they received a call informing them of their son's death, though the caller--who identified himself as a Coast Guard training personnel--was unable to say the cause of death. (Danilo V. Adorador III of Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro)
