The victim sustained several gunshot wounds.
Villamor ranked number one in the Lagangilang race for councilor seats in the last elections.
Senior Superintendent Joseph Adnol, information officer of the Cordillera police, said the weapon used in the killing was a shotgun.
Police are looking into personal grudge as the motive in the killing.
Adnol said the victim ran for Lagangilang councilor as an independent and did not support any mayoral candidate in the past elections.
Villamor was the latest politician to be killed in this violence-stricken province.
Abra was placed under the control of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) due to the number of killings and violence related to the conduct of the mid-term elections last month. (Sun.Star Baguio/Sunnex)
