2 newly-elected Nueva Ecija officials slain (9:43 a.m.)
MANILA -- A Provincial Board (PB) member of Nueva Ecija who had been elected mayor in the recently-conducted elections and a relative who was elected town council were shot dead on Friday night.
Six other persons were injured in the attack which was perpetrated by still unidentified men at around 11:30 p.m. in a cockpit in the village of Sto
Niņo where the victims were in.
The fatalities were identified as Alfredo Vendevil, a board member who won in the Lupao town mayoral elections, and his relative, Lupao town
councilor-elect Virgillo Vendevil.
Reports said the three gunmen approached the victims inside the cockpit arena and shot the after which they fled. (VR) |
