Bus, 5 garbage trucks purchased from bingo proceeds (10:00 a.m.)
By Rimaliza Opiña

BAGUIO CITY -- The Association of Barangay Councils in Baguio was able to purchase a tourist bus and five dump trucks from the proceeds of their earlier Bingo sa Barangay operations.

The tourist bus worth P1-million and the dump trucks costing over P2-million were displayed and inaugurated at the City Hall grounds Saturday, following the oath-taking rites of newly-elected Baguio officials.

Baguio Representative Mauricio Domogan and Mayor Reinaldo Bautista Jr. led the ribbon-cutting ceremonies.

The tourist bus was purchased purposely for the Lakbay Aral of barangay officials, but could reportedly be lent to the City Government for their own tours, pending the purchase of their own bus.

The dump trucks, meanwhile, would be used to augment the hauling of garbage in the different barangays, which in turn would transport sorted garbage to the materials recovery facilities. (Sun.Star Baguio)
