Rebellion raps filed vs Bayan Muna leader in S. Cotabato (5:30 p.m.)

KORONADAL CITY -- Police authorities filed rebellion charges against a regional officer of Bayan Muna in Southwestern Mindanao and other local leaders of partylists Anakpawis and Kabataan in the area for supposed links with the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and the New People's Army (NPA).

Leo Palmejar, Bayan Muna local spokesperson, said the partylist group's beleaguered regional coordinator Gilbert Rey Cardeño received a subpoena earlier this week from the prosecution office here to answer a rebellion case reportedly filed by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

He said several officers of partylists Anakpawis and Kabataan were also included in the subpoena but he refused to name any of them.

Provincial Prosecutor Alfredo Odi has given them 10 days to answer the charges, he said. (AVE of Sun.Star General Santos)
