City execs hold on to Baguio convention center (9:55 p.m.)
BAGUIO City officials are prepared to fight tooth and nail to maintain tenurial rights over the Baguio Convention Center (BCC).
This even as a representative from the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) central office came to Baguio on Friday and informed City Administrator Peter Fianza of their plans for a "peaceful turnover" of the BCC to them.
Lawyer Isagani del Rosario of the GSIS central office was supposed to meet Baguio Mayor Reinaldo Bautista Jr. but their meeting was cancelled because of the ongoing consensus-building seminar with department heads and members of the City Council. It was Fianza who was sent to meet the GSIS official.
Fianza said he promised to send a written answer to the GSIS takeover plan. At present, the City Administrator's Office is coordinating with the City Legal Office for actions it would take in case the GSIS pushes with the facility's takeover. (Rimaliza Opiņa of Sun.Star Baguio)
