Pangasinan: Health chief's brother elected private schools' group prexy (6:40 p.m.)

DAGUPAN CITY -- A brother of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III was elected as president of the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities (Pacu), the country's oldest and largest association of private schools.

Dr. Gonzalo Duque, president of the Lyceum-Northwestern University (LNU) here, is the first Pangasinense to become Pacu president. The election was held on July 21 in Manila.

Gonzalo had been the vice president of the group before he got elected to the Pacu presidency.

"I am humbled by my election as president. I know that this is a challenging job and I can only humbly ask our members and officers to support our programs to make Pacu more responsive to the interest of its members in providing quality education to the people," he said. (LCMY/Sunnex)
