DAVAO CITY -- A Hollywood movie outfit has started shooting in the gold rush mountain of Diwalwal in Monkayo, Compostela Valley Friday, a day after actor Josh Hartnett arrived in the area.

Mt. Diwata barangay captain Franco Tito said the movie shoot will last for about five days to a week.

Hartnett arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Thursday and immediately boarded a plane for Davao City.

Upon arrival at the Davao International Airport, Hartnett was whisked to a waiting vehicle that sped off for Diwalwal.

It was learned that the Hollywood team is staying at the "depot" near the headquarters of the Army's 28th Infantry Battalion in Diwalwal.

Tight security is reportedly being observed in the shooting area. Police and military personnel have been deployed there to secure the foreign visitors.

Governor Arturo "Chiongkee" Uy said he would host a dinner for the Hollywood team so he could thank them personally for choosing Diwalwal as the site of their movie "I come with the rain."

The movie is produced by Central Films Production and directed by Vietnamese director Tran Anh Hung whose previous credits include "The Vertical Ray of the Sun," "The Scent of Green Papaya," and "Cyclo."

Harnett is a private detective in the movie who, haunted by a past encounter with a serial killer, heads for the Far East to search for a missing heir who has the power to heal with his touch.

About 200 local residents are hired as extras. Aside from Hartnett, Korean star Byung-hun Lee is also in the movie. (Sun.Star Davao/Sunnex)
