Baguio: Town seeks easier way of correcting wrong birth doc entries (9:33 p.m.)

BAGUIO CITY –- To spare the public from the hassles of correcting wrong entries in their birth certificates, the Kibungan Municipal Government pushes for the passage of a bill that would allow such acts without need of judicial order.

In a resolution, town officials asked anew Benguet Representative Samuel Dangwa to file a bill allowing the correction of wrong entries--such as misspelled names, wrong entry of name and gender, and dates of birth--without going through the court process.

Wrong entries in birth certificates are among the usual problems encountered at the Local Civil Registrars. (Jane Cadalig of Sun.Star Baguio)
