Mayor limits time for serving liquor in Baguio By Rimaliza Opiña
BAGUIO CITY -- Not content with the success of the 7 p.m. curfew for minors, Baguio City Mayor Reinaldo Bautista Jr. issued another order restricting the serving of liquors from 6 p.m. to midnight effective August 20.
Aside from regulating the serving of liquor, Executive Order (EO) 2-2007 also controls its sale to minors who, the mayor said, could readily access it.

The mayor's order also said that minors, those already intoxicated and those found carrying deadly weapons, would not be allowed to enter nightclubs and bars. The prohibition also includes employees of these establishments.
Minors may be allowed to enter when they are in private parties and accompanied by their parents or guardians but it was stressed that the serving of liquor is still prohibited.
Exempt from the coverage of EO 2 are law enforcement authorities. They, however, are required to deposit their firearms prior to entering an establishment.
Sari-sari stores are allowed to sell but are prohibited from setting up tables that would be used for drinking.
Bautista also ordered all liquor-serving establishments to require their waiters and bartenders to wear uniforms with nameplates, which is at least one inch in width for identification purposes.
Disregarding the order would result in the revocation of an establishment's business permit.
Selling and drinking of liquor is also prohibited in public parks, cemeteries, alleys, buses, taxis, jeepney terminals, and in moving or parked vehicles. (Sun.Star Baguio/Sunnex)
