Bacolod: Bacoleņo dies in Saudi, another one 'critical' (9 a.m.) By Erwin Ambo S. Delilan
BACOLOD CITY -- A Bacoleņo from Tinagong Paraiso, Barangay Banago who
worked in a fishing boat in Saudi Arabia died recently at a hospital in Jeddah.
While another one who works as domestic helper in Alkhobar also in Saudi Arabia is now in critical condition due to myoma and cyst in her ovary.
Demetrio Gabayeron reportedly succumbed to an undisclosed illness at King Faadh General Hospital in Jeddah on July 16. But until now, the transport of his remains cannot be facilitated due to fund lack.
His wife, Iluminda, and daughter, Marites, are themselves poor and do not have the financial means to shoulder the transport cost of his body back here in Bacolod.
This prompted then Bacolod Representative Monico Puentevella to seek assistance from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to help for the transport of Gabayeron's cadaver.
It was also found out that he was not paid yet of his wages. His employer also disappeared, a report from Saudi disclosed.(Sun.Star Bacolod) |
