Razon is new police chief (9:05 p.m.)
MANILA -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Monday announced the appointment of Police Deputy Director General for Administration Avelino Razon Jr. as the new PNP chief.
“Our incoming chief of the PNP, Avelino “Sonny” Razon Jr., who will be the chief PNP starting on October 1,” Arroyo said during a business forum in Iligan City.
Razon, a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class of 1974, served twice as chief of then Western Police District Office now Manila Police District. (JMR/Sunnex)
