JDV: Death of ZTE deal proves project’s ‘faulty’ (7:20 p.m.)
MANILA--Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr., said the cancellation of the $329 million National Broadband Network (NBN) deal with China's ZTE Corporation just proved that his son’s campaign against the project was correct.
He however, expressed elation over the decision made by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on the broadband project’s cancellation saying the development is a clear indication that the project was faulty.
De Venecia reiterated that he has long been calling for the government to junk the project as this would mean a P15 billion savings, adding that such program should be implemented under the build-operate-transfer scheme. (Sunnex)
