Bacolod: Man runs amok, kills 1 in barangay fiesta (12:02 p.m.)
BACOLOD CITY -- The fiesta of Barangay Alicante in EB Magalona town Thursday was marred by a bloody incident that killed an innocent three-year-old girl and wounded two others.
The incident took place at Purok San Francisco in the said barangay at around 3 p.m. when three drunk men from the nearby Purok Cubay arrived and caused trouble.
Police report disclosed that Salvador Padios, 41, Roderick Siasico, 22, and Joery Bulanon went to Purok San Francisco on board a tricycle.
Upon their arrival, Bulanon allegedly saw his long-time male enemy. He then asked Padios to shoot.
Without any provocation, Padios then pulled out his improvised shotgun (sulpak) and fired indiscriminately hitting three bystanders that include the three-year-old girl, her elder sister, 16, and their cousin, 13.
The three-year-old girl died while being rushed from Teresita Jalandoni Memorial Provincial Hospital in Silay City to the Riverside Medical Center in Bacolod City. (Jerome S. Galunan Jr. of Sun.Star Bacolod)
