Their fellow barangay officials, chairman Rico Aquino and councilman Ronaldo Sison of Barangay San Miguel, Bani, were earlier charged with the same offense.
Witnesses claimed that Avelino and Tugas were with Aquino and Sison when the chairman of Barangay San Miguel shot dead Gabriel Bautista, a nurse at the Western Pangasinan District Hospital based in Alaminos, in front of Meteor Garden Videoke bar in Barangay Inerangan on September 2.
The other victims in the incident -- Rosemarie Burlaza, Grace Agbayani, Melvin Dona, Joel Quejada, and Michael Angelo Tan -- confirmed the testimony of witnesses.
Bautista and his companions were alighting from their vehicle when Aquino's group accosted them.
A heated argument ensued between the two groups that resulted in one of the suspects, later identified as Aquino, shooting Bautista and, at gunpoint, ordered the nurse's companions to get out of their vehicle and lie face down.
The suspects then took valuable items of the victims including cellular phones, gold bracelet, silver and gold necklace, and wallets that contained undetermined amount of cash. The assailants fled afterwards. (LCMY/Sunnex)
