American national nabbed for pedophilia

DAVAO CITY -- An American national who worked as a clown at an orphanage in Davao Oriental was charged with child pornography and other offenses in the United States after authorities discovered photos of naked young boys in his digital camera.
Paul Carlock, a 57-year-old former police officer, worked as "Klutzo the Clown" for about two years in the House of Joy orphanage in San Isidro, Davao Oriental.

Carlock was arrested by airport authorities after his bags were found to have images on his camera and computer of naked boys, most about 9 or 10 years old, from the orphanage.
Arrested Tuesday in the midwestern state of Illinois, Carlock was charged with knowingly possessing child pornography, and engaging in illicit sexual conduct with a minor.
The founder of the House of Joy orphanage, Tina Yu, said Paul Carlock volunteered as "magician" for two years at their orphanage and that the foreigner loved to take photos of young kids especially those roaming in the streets of the municipality of San Isidro.
"Magician man namo na si Paul Carlock diri sa House of Joy, ga volunteer na sya diri. Wa ko mahibawo nga pedophile diay tong inataya to. Duol man kaayo sya sa mga bata, daghay mga bata magsunod-sunod sa iyaha kay magician man lagi, (He is our magician here in the House of Joy, he volunteered here. I didn’t know he was a pedophile. He was very close to the kids. Many kids go asfter him because of his being a magician)," said Yu, also former mayor of San Isidro.
Yu said for two years, Carlock have worked for free in their orphanage.
"We did not pay him because he was the one who volunteered as magician for the kids," Yu said.
She added that Carlock loved to go to public elementary schools.
"In school, he also took photo of the kids. He just likes to take photos of the kids. But I did not know that he took photos of nude kids. There was also no talk that this man is a pedophile. All I know is that he is being loved by young kids. I also do not have an idea whether he has sexually abused kids here. But I will look into that. I will ask the kids now whether they were abused by this man," Yu said.
"I think he was here for two months. The last time we met was in July this year," she added.
She said Carlock had contacted them two years ago after he saw their orphanage's website.
"He told me that he saw our website and that he is willing to help. He did not give cash donation. He said he will work as magician for the kids," Yu recalled.
