KIDAPAWAN CITY -- Two teenagers were wounded when a fragmentation grenade exploded in a commercial district in Cotabato City, some 180 kilometers north of this city, around 9 p.m., Tuesday.

Injured were Muhammad Sidik, 16, and Anwarudin Kasan, 17, both residents of SK Pendatun Extension in Cotabato City.

Reports from the Cotabato City Philippine National Police (PNP) said that the victims, including a still unidentified person, were seated in a parked tricycle along corner Quezon Avenue and SK Pendatun St. at around 9:30 p.m. when the PRV 75 fragmentation grenade went off.

Sidik and Kasan, seated at the back of the tricycle, were hit, while the other one seated in front, was spared.

Senior Superintedent Willy Dangane, Cotabato City PNP chief, believed the blast was an accident and has nothing to do with any terror-related attacks. (Sun.star Davao)
